Lueders Mill
The production of roughback, splitface, thin veneer, and smooth veneer takes place at the Lueders facility. The blocks are quarried in the same fashion for both facilities, but for Lueders the block is delivered to four gantry saws where 72 to 90 inch diameter blades cut and slab the blocks for residential and commercial use.
Depending on its application, the block is run through gantry saws, multi blade saws or rip/joint lines. Typically the block is run through the rip/joint line if the end product is dimensional, such as wall veneer. If the end product is not dimensional it may bypass the rip/joint line, and be delivered directly to the thin veneer lines or splitters using four overhead cranes. The thin veneer lines cut at up to 1 ¼ inches in thickness up to 12 inch course height. The thin veneer lines also produce "L" corners which give the impression of a full bed conventional setting job.
